Peter joined iris Sponsorship as managing director and headed up the agency’s launch in October 2008. Peter’s role is to drive high-profile new business wins, building the iris Sponsorship team across the globe and overseeing the growth of the agency.
As Vodafone’s ex global head of sponsorship and media, Peter is an industry heavyweight with more than 20 years’ experience. Having served on the Formula One Commission and as the mastermind behind Vodafone’s global sponsorship strategy for the past seven years, he has spearheaded the McLaren, Manchester United, Ferrari and UEFA deals among others and has led the development of Vodafone’s global music and digital media strategy.
Harris was global director of sponsorship and media for Vodafone between 2001 and 2004 and latterly was global director of brand experience and partnership marketing from 2005 until he joined iris in October 2008. Prior to Vodafone, Harris held various positions at The Coca-Cola Company between 1992 and 2001 and was a worldwide director of sponsorship there from 2000. He worked at Leo Burnett as group manager of international media between 1989 and 1992 and prior to that held planning roles at Bozell and Ogilvy & Mather respectively.
